Peppers and Eggs - I am Convinced!

I began to use both cayenne and crushed red pepper in the hens feed last month as I was desperate to increase my girls egg production. I was only getting 1 egg every other to three days out of 12 hens. After 3-4 days I got 4 and then 5 each day!! I fed this to them maybe twice each week, but none last week as I ran out of both types of pepper. The last 3-4 days I got 1-3 eggs per day. I am an official believer in this old wives' tale.

Wow! a neighbor suggested that to me too when I was talking to her about my girls lack of eggs. I've had 9 chickens for a month and only 2 are laying and those are only every other day. I guess I shouldn't have rolled my eyes at her. I'll have to try it now!
