No way! Neither one is a Southern thing. Have to call them all "Coke", no matter what the brand.
Yep they're all coke to me too!
Our friends from California, who are transplants still have the hardest time with knowing what people are talking about when they say they want a coke. ^_^ We make fun of each other for our cultural differences So fun!
Oh and I prefer DP then Coke...btw the sugar cane DP that you can only order from Texas is AWESOME!!!
Okiemommy, soda changed when they went from sugar cane sweetened to corn syrup sweetened. For years we bought small, local varieties which still used sugar cane. Now a lot of companies have gone back to it, and I think it tastes so much better than corn syrup based sodas!!
(A lot of people who like Coca Cola used to get the ones bottled for Mexico, as they were using sugar cane in theirs. That may no longer be true, but it used to be.)
Use to be a big regular coke drinker and then switched to diet coke. I will only drink a diet pepsi if it from a fountain. Pepsi of any kind in a can taste nasty to me.
I use to call everything soda or soda pop when I lived up north. Then after moving to florida everyone looked at me funny and no one knew what I was talking about. Now I just call it all coke!
I used to be a big Coke drinker until I switched to diet and for some odd reason Diet Coke taste to Diety if that makes since so I tried Diet Pepsi and got hooked on it. I still drink more sweet tea then anything, you know how us southerners are,
