We ordered 2 dozen Cream Legbar eggs. They sent 28. Hovabator 1588 with automatic turner. Kept the humidity +/- 50% and 100 deg. Had 10 hatched. Opened the others this morning. There were 2 formed chicks, one that should have hatched, but never chipped the shell. 2 others that were partially formed. The rest of the eggs were just yokes. No chick, no veins, nothing. I have to wonder how many were fertilized. Anyway, a 35% hatch rate.

Hi, welcome to BYC! :frow

35% isn't the worst for shipped eggs, I think.

I also believe that if they quit the evidence of starting may be absorbed back in some how leaving no evidence that they "started", if not cracked open and checked within a certain time period?? This one I am still learning though... because I wonder the same thing in my Marans eggs that don't get candled or tossed until lock down if they were ever fertile in the first place also.

Congrats on your chicks! :jumpy:jumpy

35% is about average for shipped eggs. The best I personally ever have got was 8 out of 15 eggs to form with 7 of them hatching. I have got some 1 out of 12 type hatches from shipped eggs. Have got any no hatches so I am happy to give it a gamble to see if I can get anything to work with that I wouldn't be able to get any other way.
