I have one that always lays from the perch, so I go in and catch them if I want them. Got about 10 that way so far.

My Taupe hen did this 3 eggs in a row, so I layered grass hay about 1' deep under the perch. So then she decides to lay eggs on top of the metal roof shelter inside the pens where peas can get under when it rains or is hot, and naturally she stepped on 3 of them or they rolled off the metal roof. So I moved them to a pen with no shelter but with a overhang from the building if they needed it. Of course when I moved them,she quit laying for a week because of the newpen.
