Perdue: Just found part of soft shell in her poop? Good or Bad?

Yes, I made a mistake.....

Mineral Oil was used in her oviduct to soften and help lubricate to expel the egg.

But it did not work. She is still egg bound.

She goes to the vets tomorrow morning.

PLEASE let us know what happens! I hope she's ok...

HAPPY PALM SUNDAY ---- AND HAPPY NEWS!!!!!

PERDUE LAID AN EGG ---- ONE DOWN -- ONE TO GO----

Her abdomen is still swollen (not quite as much) since she still has one egg there (as the x-rays showed on Thursday).

I gave her another warm bath and lubed her with a tiny bit of mineral oil again.

She isn't walking around or eating as much today -- I hope and pray the reason is that she is trying to expel the last egg as every time I go to check on her, she is in her nest box.

Please keep praying. Thank you.

P.S. How much calcium gluconate do you inject into a 5 lb hen. Where do you inject a chicken --- in the stomach?

The only time I had to give my hen injections it was subcutaneous - so we went into the breast muscle. I'd ask a vet, however!
I'm glad she got rid of one egg, the poor sweetie!
