Performance Poultry order (HORRIBLE SERVICE)

Brown Leghorns look like this only much younger!

I would put this in the review section, because it was handled very incorrectly. Which, is crazy because he could have done this is a polite and informative way. If he is hatching Brown Leghorns, Easter Eggers and Welsummers, he has got to be hatching and brooding them separately to get his orders right, they are too similar in appearance to throw them all in the same box and guess. And he could have told you that.

Not all Easter Eggers hatch with beards, and some have yellow legs. You will probably have to wait until your birds are feathered, and the earlobe colors are coming in to truly know what you have.

I know it is easy to judge people on matters like this. I agree he shouldnt have treated you like this, it could have been taken care of in a polite manner. But you never know what kind of problems he is going through in life. Sometimes if someone is stressed, sad, angry for some reason, etc., they can react in ways that wouldn't be considered polite. But still, he will be losing customers fast if he doesn't at least 'try' to straighten up.....

If I remember correctly Jason is a veterinarian who sources most of his poultry from Ideal Poultry. He has to go across the border to pick them up from a neighboring state and drive them back after they were shipped from Texas. They might have all been shipped in the same box, or maybe some died..

I'd be happy I got welsummers instead of BLH.:D

Well, I wanted some white egg layers- I have dark brown, buff and green and blue already. So I ordered danish brown leghorns for that reason.

Bantamsrmyfav----Im not sure where he gets his breeding stock- but my chicks were not shipped from anywhere, born on site at Performance Poultry, or so I am told.

Can you please post a comb pic of each individual bird please?

Is this for finding the EE? Because both Welsummer and DBL have single combs...

I have determined that the two dark brown fuzzy birds are EE- pea comb and grey legs!

So now I just have an issue with the Danish Brwon Leghorns vrs Welsummer.

He had a minimum order of 5 per breed (I only need 3 of each DBL and W) and wanted to sell the rest to my neighbour- but how do I do that when I cant tell them apart! arggh

I ask this, because you asked if there were certain numbers of certain breeds or not. So if I can see the combs on each chick, I can tell which ones are EEs, and SLW, and the L and W. I can't tell the last two apart until their earlobe comes in.
Did I misunderstand your question??

Hi,
Ive figured out the EE and the SLW are easy- just the diff between the 2 week old brown leghorns and welsummer. 5 of each. I believe the earlobes are the first real sign of the breed... because both have single combs.
