Permethrin and Elector PSP??

I guess I have a bug problem and I want them gone like yesterday. I have one chicken that started picking out her feathers at the base of her tail about a week ago. I checked her right when I saw it and found nothing so I put peck no more on her. Over the next couple of days she pecked herself bare in that spot but I still couldn’t find anything on her! Well yesterday I throughly checked her and then pulled back her feathers around her vent and watched for a while and finally saw a little bug crawl through! I ordered Elector PSP but it won’t be here till next week and I hate to see her like this. Can I buy permethrin at Tractor Supply, treat the girls and the coop with it, then treat them again with the Elector when it gets here to make sure there’s no babies and eggs?

Or has anyone used this? Sorry for the double post. I’m just so anxious to get these little jerks gone and help my girls!

Aw man ok. The reviews look really good but I want something that will kill all the bugs! You think it will be ok to use permethrin then psp when it comes? It won’t hurt them right?

Many people do and I've never heard not to. It should be fine.

Ok good. Going to get the permethrin today to help alleviate her itching and clean the coop. Then do a dunk on everyone and the coop again when the elector comes.

Good call on the Elector PSP. Oh yeaaa, it kills adults and the larva. Diatomaceous Earth ( no clue if I spelled it right) works good too, I don't use it as a stand alone though- I also spray permithrin..but I'm gonna get Elector soon, since regular permethrin only kills the adults. I bought a 50lb sack and dust the girls with it and I mix it into the areas in the pen / run where they dirt bath.

You know I didn't catch if you were spraying for lice or mites? Or both!?

I use FS Lime in the coop and run so I hope that helps in that area too! I sprayed for what I THINK was lice. It ran by so quick I didn’t get a great look at it. But my poor girl ripped out all her feathers at the base of her tail and made herself bleed cause of them and the other ones were starting to mess with their feathers. 2 weekends of spraying them and cleaning the whole coop, they seem to be much better. My feather picker hasn’t grown any feathers back but her wounds healed so I know she’s stopped picking! Elector worked great! I used the permethrin the first weekend cause I could get that on the shelf at TSC. Elector the following weekend instead of a second round of permethrin.
