I am looking into if I need a permit to own wood ducks.. And to sell them IF that ever is needed..I have searched the dept of fish and wildlife, but cant seem to find the area needed to figure that out...

Any help would be appreciated.

Find out for sure before you get the ducks. As a kid I purchased a pair of wood ducks - then I applied for a state permit (NJ). State fish and wildlife officials came and seized my birds. I was not fined as it was evident that I was not intentionally circumventing the law. I am not certain what if anything happened to the person who sold them to me. Officials were apologetic, but it was the law.

I'm going up to fish and game but after reading that someone's got taken I'm not sure how to approach the subject I guess I'll find out

Whoever sells them to you should give you a form with them. They can't legally sell them without a permit ...and they have to record it and your name, etc. Fed. law.
