So my Red Golden hen has been sitting for about 2 weeks now- I was away for 4 days and discovered that she was off the nest, not only that, but there is absolutely no signs of her eggs....all my pens sit on a rock apron that is cemented- no sign of predators getting in anywhere....I am wondering if maybe it was a snake that came in and ate the eggs- the wire is large enough that they could come and go with ease.....looks like the 2x wire is going to get replaced with 3/4" hardware cloth....still learning.....

Possible, but I have had pheasant hens be broody with no eggs.

Other hens may have eaten them. Wait oh no i hope im wrong but did you have someone caring for your chickens... And if so did they collect eggs...

I know she had 6 eggs as I counted them- there are no other hens in with this pair of pheasants....

nope- the better half says she say the hen off next the day before I returned home......

The hen may have eaten the eggs or like you said a snake got them im sorry.

I've seen bluejays carry off chicken eggs, can wild birds get into your run?

Is it possible a skunk could squeeze thru the wire?They love eating pheasant eggs especially just before they are due to hatch.
