Personal hygiene when owning chickens and other animals

No judgement, but I'm sure mine would murder me, just to see what was in my cup.
I drink my coffee on the back porch, while the flock lines up at the fence line and gives me pathetic looks.
I've been chasing my speckled sussex hen away, from my stray cat's bowl for 15 minutes, just so he can eat. ( She comes over the fence whenever I open their run to the chicken yard.) She is very food motivated and persistent.
Mine are like that with basically everything else lol just not the coffee cups for whatever reason. I've use the same two sippy-thermos-type cups the whole time and most of my chickens know what's in there is bitter and icky. I can even offer the cup to them and they will just sniff it, do the "yuck" head shake, and then ignore it. But then there are the three coffee ladies. Those three are extra nice to me during morning coffee time in the hopes that there will be a tiny little dribble down the side so they can desperately try to lick it before it dries.

I'm imaging a caffinated hen singing the egg song 🤣

Hi all, wasn't sure of the right forum to post this question in. I'm wondering about hygiene with regard to:

  1. hands
  2. shoes
  3. tools
Do you all have strict rules/regimens about how you keep yourself and your things clean? "Always wash hands after feeding the chickens or collecting eggs," "have one pair of shoes/boots that you use for chicken chores and nothing else," or something like that? What about tools? I just got back from fluffing the bedding in my coop and decided to wash/disinfect the pitchfork, wheelbarrow, and bucket that I was using afterwards before returning them to the garage. Is that overkill?

I hope it is (overkill) because I do nothing really other than wash my hands after handling
