I have problems with spiders, ants and roaches. Every 2 months, the pest control person comes and sprays outside around the house foundation, windows, doors and shed to help control them. Inside the house might get one treatment a year and only if I'm starting to see large numbers of ants and roaches inside.

I've searched the forum and haven't found much information about how dangerous the pesticides are for the chickens if they eat one of the dead bugs. Will it hurt them? Will it get passed to the eggs and hurt me?

We just started raising chickens so this is all new to me. My backyard is 25' x 65' so there isn't much space. I plan to let the chickens out of the coop whenever I am outside but in general they won't get free run of the backyard.

One thought I had was to not spray in the back yard, just the front where the chickens won't be able to go.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
