Does anyone else keep ants?
Ants are amazing creatures! If you don't keep ants, please consider doing so!
Keeping ants is so easy! All you need is a jar, some sand, some dirt, and few ants!
Did you know you can even train ants to come?

I have a simple, handbuilt formicarium and a few ants.

This is the simple ant farm I built: http://www.wikihow.com/Build-an-Ant-Farm
It is very simple and my ants love it!

If you are interested in keeping ants please send me a PM or post here if you have any questions.
I keep ants and it has costed me $0 dollars.

I keep ants sporadically - my kid's interest really, not my own. we build formicarium for them, and I do enjoy that aspect of it - as it allows some creativity. We're considering a new colony this year - leaning towards 'little black ants' or a ghost ant variety...

I guess ants aren't that popular lol I think ants are very interesting but I'd be worried that they might escape and end up in my bed or my clothes or something.. Think I'll stick to rodents :p but if you have any pics of your ants I'd be interested in seeing them.

I can post a pic soon.
I've never had mine escape, the workers don't get too riled up unless you move the formicarium harshly or cover an entrance.
I use a fine mesh and a metal lid with holes and no-one has escaped.
What kind of rodents do you keep?

None at the moment, but I've kept many hamsters. I would like to adopt some gerbils soon :] Where do you get the ants from?
