If left unspayed, the risk of uterine cancer is approximately 80%
and this is usually fatal.
We had the last of our rabbits attacked in their pens by a neighbor dog which killed all but one, a rabbit we called Dorky. Dorky escaped her hutch during the attack and has evaded capture for the last ten years since. She finally died a month ago when my middle sons boss accidentally hit in her in our roundabout at the ripe old age of 12. Never fixed and without any surviving bucks never bred again after her first batch of kits.
