My Dad still thinks that blue and green eggs are low in cholestrol but I kept reminding him, yes I do remember that story but it has been proven as pfffffft! Same egg, same calories, same cholestrol, same fat content. All is different is the sizes.

If I get a customer that wanted certain egg shell color, I would charge MORE.

I sell eggs of every color but white, yes I said it. My mother bought those anemic, gacky white things from the store and I couldn't stand them, so it is a mental thing for me. My most popular eggs are the chocolate Marans eggs and I have to mix them up with browns, blues & greens as I don't usually have enough to go around, but everyone loves those chocolate eggs. For a couple of neighbors I will sell them a straight color, everyone else gets the mix. They claim the dark eggs taste better too. Truthfully, I like them better too, I love breaking open those deep colored shells and watching that deep, rich yolk pop out into that skillet. Guess my kids are right, I am mental!

Its just an egg.same as same.

Is the egg chocolate inside or does it taste like chocolate on the outside? My DW would be there to wait for Jeckle to lay her egg every day.

Remember, chocolate eggs comes from a chickens butt.

I hope that quells any "magical chocolate flavored egg laying chicken" ideas.

Yes, you are correct, it is just an old egg from a chicken's butt and there is nothing magical about them or chocolately. I just marvel at all the different shades of shell color. I do the same things with the quail eggs also. My family thinks I have flipped my gizzard sometimes when I show them a particularly beautiful egg.

My brother in law won't eat eggs for the above mentioned reason, he also won't drink milk as it comes from the underside of a cow.

IDK, but I suspect that the dark brown marans shell might retain that fresh taste longer. The thicker shell likely slows down oxidation, which effects egg flavor. If you're going to eat your eggs within a week or so, you likely wouldn't notice a difference, but I can see where someone who buys eggs less frequently and stores them longer might prefer the thicker shell. I have one customer who comes out from town to visit relatives every two or three weeks and buys enough eggs to last until his next trip. Someone like that might honestly notice the difference toward the end of a batch of eggs.

SO TRUE.

Many people think WHITE EGG = warehouse bred mega-farm bird that never sees the light of day, and BROWN EGG = organic "it's better for me because its from a farm so I think it tastes better." Mistakenly believing that just because an egg is brown it is healthier, whereas ORGANIC labeled BROWN eggs may in fact still come from the mega-marm warehouses and they are overpriced because they are brown.

Our eggs come in a variety off colors and I look forward to looking at each different shade but I know that they are all basically equally good , they certainly taste equally good.

Tell the ones who want brown olny that the cost for a carton of brown-only is more. For that matter, you could price blue/green only as highest priced (rarest, if asked

), brown or white only as a bit less and mixed cartons as whatever price you really want to sell at.
