I think he needs about one more foot of line before I set the hook and escalate it to his director, who's an old coworker and friend.When the new "account manager" at a vendor tries to tell you that to get a promised discount on existing product support, you have to buy new product to meet volume licensing (when you already meet the terms for volume pricing as is). And then tries to play some obfuscated game in a new quote to then sell you product you don't need, passing it off as a "large one time discount" when he's in fact just quoting new licenses at retail and trying to muddy the waters.
