Pet Peeves

I think I've forgotten the meaning at least once or twice in the past. I've forgotten and relearned an embarrassing amount of words.
I think this is the first time I've encountered it. I'm going to immediately weaponize it for work, of course. :)
 
Another pet peeve that may have already been mentioned: people automatically assuming that the things they hear from their friends and family are true. That one has genuinely angered me at times.
Part of that is the Dunning Keating Effect. The less you know about a subject, the more you think your an expert.

My ex DIL was told by her grandmother that when you have anesthesia, you develop an air bubble in your neck. :th Two Critical Care nurses couldn't convince her differently (or figure out what the hell she was talking about.)
