Pet Peeves

My mechanic calls me Beautiful! ❤️ Loud and clear! Whether my husband is present or not! So I call him Darlin', lol. He's about 20 years younger than me. I don't find it offensive at all! 😆🤣😆
When one has a history of honest respect - I see nothing wrong with such banter. I am on both sides of this type of action all of my life in many, many retail locations or professional sites…..

Unfortunately I am indeed prone to going off on tangents.
Another pet peeve? :p
I went off on 500 words about "what we know we know, what we know we don't know, and what we don't know we don't know" as a response to the dunning talk, so can I be in the club? :)

P.S. Didn't post it because I could hear people's eyes rolling back in their skulls even before I clicked "submit"

Curious to see where "What's shakin', bacon?" falls in this conversation.

FWIW my formative years were in Orange County, CA in the 80’s….. so “suck it up buttercup.” ;):lau:pop

Yes.

See this is different. It's an age/generation thing. If you said to your child/nephew/student "I'm sorry you're not feeling well today, Hun," it wouldnt sound weird. But if they said that to you, it would sound weird and would likely make you bust out laughing, despite their good intentions.
EXACTLY. Try it with said child/ nephew/ student saying Sweetie instead of Hon. Gaaah! At Burger King, it kinda makes my skin crawl. :barnie Would thay call their grandmother "Sweetie"?
