The main grocery store charges 5c per plastic bag. Paper bags not available. But they also credit 5c for each bag you brought yourself.
What irritates me is other stores that only offer their branded cloth bag. So for a couple of bucks, I can buy one of theirs. Anywhere I use it provides them with free advertising. I get my petty revenge by turning their bag inside-out when I use it again.

Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other; I've seen a lot of strange stuff.
