Pet Peeves

So, I'm working on an art project. I also have a bottle of masking fluid.

Masking fluid is, essentially, liquid rubber latex that you use to protect parts of a painting (i.e., highlights) when working on them. You shouldn't shake it, because the latex will form into a giant rubber blob and then you're outta luck.

So why do the instructions tell me 'shake well before use' ???

I thought 'well, maybe this product is different. What could go wrong?'

I now have a giant blob of unusable latex (and an unfinished painting) to show for all my hard work.

let it dry and it should rub off. What kind of paint are you working with? I may have an alternate suggestion to masking fluid.
