Pet Peeves

People who reply to questions posted about products online when they have no clue what the answer is. For example:

Q: How long is the power cord.
A: Sorry, I don’t know.

Here’s an idea, then DON’T POST A REPLY. The question wasn’t aimed at you specifically, so if you don’t know the answer keep your fingers of the frickin keyboard. :smack

Agree 100%

I hate when people review something like -/10 and they dont even keep it withen ten. They go, 100/10, 10000/10, 300/10.

So, tell me again what the point of keeping 10 there is?
In nursing we have to use a 1-10 pain scale. We hate it but they are trying to grade something subjective (analog) on a digital scale.
But when an especially obnoxious patient answers 12 or 20 out of 10, I say out loud while typing, "Patient's answer is confused and non responsive. Not able to give pain meds at this time."

I tend to fall into a logarithmic scale of pain….
1-4 varying degrees of odd to annoyance
4-6 actual pain threshold window (beginning of magnitude scale elevation)
6-6.75 is the yellow zone (2nd magnitude jump) on the RPM gauge
7-8 is 3rd magnitude elevation in pain
8-8.5 this magnitude jump is very serious, sharp pain (wire wheel splinter under finger nail, fractured wrist & getting racked)
8.5-9 involuntary tears and streaks of stabbing pain and fire
9-9.25 the precipice before passing out
~9.25 to ~9.45 passing out from pain

I tend to fall into a logarithmic scale of pain….
I worked in a 'Pain Clinic' where they gave steroid shots to relieve back pain. Now these people were honestly in pain and would report 9-10/10 consistently.
A patient was brought in from the ED with a abscess on his spinal cord. His screams were blood curdling. People started reporting pain of 6-7/10.

To go along with this, someone posts a “what sex is this chick” question, and gets replies criticizing the ventilation, coop size, or choice of run fencing. I get people want to help, but don’t attack someone who has a completely unrelated question.

If it's a new chicken keeper, telling them is how they learn. No need for attacking, but if I see something - I say something. If someone is doing something that could be potentially harmful to their animals, they need to know so they can learn and correct it.

Gentle suggestion is good. But sometimes it’s mean! I am all about helping without attacking. You are one of the good ones, @Overo Mare !
