I was at my mom's recently and watched dumbfounded as she loaded the dishwasher. It was in a very strange way. Not necessarily wrong, but very different than how I load mine.

Bowls, small plates, then large plates, glasses on the right side, coffee mugs and small bowls on top, cutlery needs to be in order spoons together, then forks then knives,

My “high tec” dishwasher has individual compartments for each piece of silverware. DS is the designated emptier, and he gets mad at DH when he mixes up what goes where. spoons back, forks front, knives middle.

My dishwasher has grids so all the silverware is separated from each other. No nestling! No spooning allowed! But I organize it, first big spoons, then little spoons, then forks, then knives. But I don't freak if others don't do it "my way," I'm just grateful if someone else is willing to do it.

Does anyone else only handwash knives?
My husband is particular about it and doesn't want them in the dishwasher because it's not good for them.
