Can we please stop using words like "mean", "bully", and "jerk" to describe natural, normal behavior in roosters? It's very misleading and inaccurate. Stop anthropomorphizing chickens!

This was an unexpected thought-provoking exercise, thanks Blue!

I think better words to describe normal rooster behavior are dominant, submissive, or aggressive which describe behaviors, not emotional responses. When we assign human behaviors to animals, we tend to incorrectly describe their behavior in emotional terms such as "bully", or "mean". There's an excellent article here on BYC that describes The Naturally Good Rooster much better than me. @AquaDuck reminds us not to anthropomorphize roosters and to recognize their true nature.

So I unchecked the box that would sign me up for a newsletter. Then I unsubscribed when you inevitably sent me a newsletter anyway. Now I've been resubscribed at random?

I debated putting this in "Things You Wish You Could Say", but it happens so frequently with different companies that it's become a legitimate pet peeve.

Also, whenever you have to do a task with odds, but the odds never match up with your actual luck.

Examples
- Plugging in a USB cable. 50/50 chance for the correct orientation right? Nope. More like 1 in 20.
- Finding the corner of the dish towel with the hanging loop. 25% chance to get it first try. It's ALWAYS the last corner I check.

Calling a water heater a "hot water heater".
It's very common in the south, but even my Dad (Texas born and raised) couldn't stand it.
I remember as a kid him telling me "It's just a water heater, son. There ain't no point heating hot water".

My Dad, however, was guilty of Mom's #1 pet peeve (I've never run across it since) : the dreaded "half a piece of bread".
Mom: "Would you like another piece of bread"?
Dad: "Just half a piece".
Mom: "There's no such thing" and she would cut it in half, then declare that she now had two pieces, not two half-pieces.
The argument would last for the entire meal.
I kept my mouth shut, not wanting to be targeted by telling them that it wasn't a "piece", it was a "slice", and problem solved.
