Not all Android devices are "firmware level spying" or sending my data to Google. Huawei phones probably only send it straight to the CCP instead of Google.wait until you remember that any android is at a firmware level spying and sending your data straight to google. they did make android ya know. and apple is just as bad. now there is a piece of magic that lets you have the same android experience without that data harvesting. only works on google pixel phones as of now, as they are quite literally made for alternate OSs
Google develops Android, but as far as I'm aware they don't put spyware in AOSP.
I'd think Apple is at least a bit better than a Pixel on its stock system.
I opted to not use GrapheneOS on mine. I went with LineageOS instead. With GApps. Yah, I know, Google data collection, but it works. And when Google cuts off my support I should keep getting Android versions (unlike GrapheneOS).
Pixel phones aren't made for alternatives anymore. Initially it was Google's "This is what Android phones should be, minimum", to Google's iPhone. Now they don't even put out the files that made it easy for ROM developers to develop custom ROMs for Pixel any longer. I wouldn't be shocked if they locked the bootloader as a next step. Pixels are now a consumer smartphone that competes on a level with Apple and Smasnug for your pocket. They've got my pocket, but it's very possible mine could lose that space or share it with iPhone.
