When someone claims a dish is spicy, but they were clearly sheltered as children, so I completely wasted my time on said food. Should add that I am not a spice sadist. I enjoy a healthy amount of spice.

Yeah, no. When people say spicy and what they are not saying is that it will blister your lips, tongue and gums off and melt your teeth, take your breath away while they say, "oh that's not hot!"
