Pet Peeves

That is just plain rude.
After the first time, next event I’d invite everyone else at 3PM and tell (this relative) to be there at 5PM.
Being too early is just as rude as being too late.
Possibly even worse, because you are still trying to get ready and cook. 🙄
I just quit doing gatherings at my house entirely. We now go to a restaurant for Thanksgiving.

The kicker was when another relative showed up at my house one day without warning and told me she was having a party for her son and was expecting about 11 people to show up any minute. AT MY HOUSE. Her house was too small for a party, she said. So she was using mine. Lol. I let her know in no uncertain terms that no, that was not happening. A party at MY house and I was neither inforned nor even INVITED? Oh no, she didn't. I think I may have turned into one of these:

Old man,

You're doing 10 under the speed limit. Speeding up to keep me from going around you as I pass you AT THE SPEED LIMIT in the other lane is dumb. Speeding up even more to keep me from moving back over is even dumber. Some things you should know.

1. That V8 Caddy was built for comfort, not for speed.
2. I have angry snails, grippy summer tires, and a scramble button.
3. Flipping me off when I give you the chop (finger scissors), downshift, and leave you like you're standing still is just going to make me laugh. Get in the slow lane where you belong.
4. Following me to the gas station to yell at me is just going to make me laugh more. I'm not the one who was creating a safety hazard by not obeying the speed limit and then trying to enforce their vigilante road justice on someone they deemed was ignoring them. This ain't Kansas, try to fit in a little better.

I hope you have the day you deserve.
This could have been my Uncle Dennis.
Uncle Dennis, was this you?

We have three gas pumps at our market gas station in town.
They are all in one row and only room enough for one vehicle on each side. A very old gas station with the old pumps which have rolling numbers.
Why do people, especially out of towners and part-timers, park there (NOT getting gas) but going in to get drinks and taking bathroom breaks???
There is a “No parking” sign, and yet it does not register.
Plenty of parking on the side and around back.
Meanwhile, cars backed up at the market and some community retirees just sitting there enjoying the hubbub.

Edit: Yep, I live in Mayberry.

Sounds like our gas station.
