Pet Peeves........

Yeah? I won't go into childbirth, but my mother told me cramps would hurt a little bit, but a hot water bottle would fix it.
She never mentioned passing out, crying, and throwing up from the pain. Doesn't mean it didn't happen. And by all means... Show me this evidence of yours. I need a laugh.

I hate when people are lost and come down my road, which is a dead end, drive all the way down my 110 yd. driveway, turn around then as they are leaving throw all of the trash in their vehicle in MY YARD!!!!

One of my pet peeves USED to be Ken's nephew walking in without knocking and heading straight for the fridge. And he always showed up at meal time too. It is no longer a pet peeve after he managed to survive an accident that had everyone thinking he was dead. Then paralyzed, then brain damaged, then it will take a while to walk. He is now using a walker.

My version of pet peeves has been changed forever. Little things irritate me, then I let them go. Glen's accident has taught us a lot.

Look. Some people have painful labors. Some do not. When I had my goat dairy, some of my does had easy deliveries and some did not and screamed bloody murder with each contraction. Are you going to tell me that the does that had painful deliveries had painful deliveries because they thought it was going to be painful? I once listened to a physician, an internist no less, tell a class of nursing students that there was no such thing as a gas pain. He said that the digestive tract was a tube open at both ends. Therefore there could be no buildup of gas, hence no gas pain. Obviously he had never had a gas pain. And since he had never had a gas pain he erroneously came to the conclusion that since he had never had a gas pain they did not exist. He taught me something. Just because you personally have not seen or experienced something, it does not mean it doesn't exist. And studies can be wrong. More often than you think.

PJ's in Wal Mart..

Well endowed woman and no bras...

People parked in HANDICAPPED which have NO TAGS OR PLACARDS and should not be there...

Overweight people and TINY cloths... Hate to see that muffin top...

There's more but I will keep it short and sweet....

=Only reason child birth is painful is because people go in with the mindset that it will be.

Really? And here all this time I thought it was because I had to push something the size of a Thanksgiving turkey out of my nether regions!! Seriously, either you are basing this on the experience of a woman who has been in incredible physical shape for all her births (I was for my oldest DD, and felt minimal pain ... NOT the case with my last two!!!!) or her kids were the size of hamsters ... No, my pain during my last two labors was not illusory; I assure you it was very real DESPITE me expecting LESS pain from previous experience - As I said, I had a relatively pain free birth for the eldest. Don't assume everyone's experience is the same.

My pet peeve is students who call me by my first name. Some of them think because they are "all grown up" and in college, or are "working adults" that they can assume a certain level of familiarity. I am not obnoxiously arrogant about my degrees, but I am reasonably proud of the accomplishments they represent, and I don't think expecting my students to call me "professor" is asking too much or being stuck up.
