PetSmart visit ends in BYC cricket massacre

I took a king snake into walmart one time...
I felt sorry for him, I found him in the backyard and picked him up and didn't know what he was so I took him to a local pet store to see what breed it was and the gender and afterwards we went to Walmart and I did not want to leave him in the car because it was like 100 degrees outside and in the car double so I wrapped the 4-foot long snake around my wrist and walked in. He stayed there looked like a real gaudy bracelet...though at the carpet store I wasn't so lucky this lady saw it and almost gave me a heart attack when she started screaming and ran out of the store, I just went back to shopping.

What I love about stories like this is that there's some lady out there who gasps in horror about the weirdo in Walmart wearing a snake as a bracelet!

I've taken my Old English Game rooster to petsmart before! Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. It was so fun!!

I guess the funny thing is that I took him into Petsmart to buy a pet carrier so I could take him into the mall.

I have two chronically ill hens that require special treatment and have no appetite right now for their regular food, but one of the things they love is crickets from the pet stores. However, they are "gut loaded" with calcium because they are made for reptiles. Calcium can be harmful to chickens kidneys in large amounts. Anyone know what a safe level of crickets per hen per day is if you get the crickets that aren't gut loaded?

Thanks!
