Cool!!!

You have eggs from 3 different sources. 9 or so are from my birds which
were in one clear container, the others in the clear containers are from
someone else, and the ones that were wrapped in napkins are from a third
source. I hope you like genetic diversity.

We had a good hatch the last few days from the ones in the plastic cases.
What's crazy is my bators lokst power for 24 hours. They still hatched at
a high rate. Quail are tough little buggers.

and you are right they are tough..my very first set of Coturnix eggs i ever hatch was from Sam and the night they were due to hatch my power went out and it was out for about 4 to 6 hours i can't remember...but the temps went down to 80 and stayed there ....but when the power came back on out of 15 eggs 13 hatched

Get ready Mark - you're almost there!!!!

I'm happy to report that I have one pip out of 6 of my BO eggs!!!! First hatch ever with these so I'm anxiously waiting - today is day 21! Not having much luck so far; only 6 out of 19 eggs had chicks in them, so even if one hatches I'll be thrilled!!!

****UPDATE****

it's day 14!!

I wonder which are the most desirable for egg eating and bird eating...jombos? coturnix?

Yup yup

Jumbo Coturnix is the quail to get for egg eating and quail eating

and they are not as scared of you as most other quails Coturnix are more calm

it takes 16 days to incubate you stop turning on day 14.

but sometimes mine hatch on day 17...lol

if you want quail i say go with the Jumbo Coturnix.

I agree - the jumbo coturnix are wonderful, of course I haven't tried anything else. They mature very quickly and the meat is wonderful, as are the eggs. I pickled 4 more pints yesterday!
