How long do these hybrids normally live? Eggs per year? Does anyone on here own one? They are beautiful.

Is this hybrid chick still alive? Cool project.First pheasant x chicken hybrid! This was actually quite a surprise as we thought these eggs were still fertilized by chicken roosters. There was another basically identical one that died around the 20th day. We think it possibly has multiple spurs from a Sumatra cross hen, but is hard to know for sure at this size. The last photo is of the father.

Yes, it’s still doing very well! We currently have 29 chicken x pheasant hybrids. They are all pretty young still, but by far most have been very strong and healthy. Is this hybrid chick still alive? Cool project.
That is so awesome! I may try an experiment like this in the future. May I ask what kind of pheasant and chicken was used for this hybrid? Thx,Yes, it’s still doing very well! Beautiful bird! Look forward to seeing it when all it's colors come in. Do you think a hybrid of a golden pheasant or amethyst pheasant would work? Where I live I can't own Ringneck pheasants without a license. Thx,Male breast feathers coming in.View attachment 3160133
Thank yoi for the reply! I hope to do this in the future. Do you by any chance know if this hybrid was naturally bred? Thank you.Yes, those work as well! These are not my birds, but first is half golden and second is half Amherst.
