Pheasant/chicken hybrid photos

I know this tread is very old... But I have a Golden Pheasant make that's nearly a year old and FINALLY entering his molt into his adult feathers!View attachment 4133971View attachment 4133972
And I also just so happen to have a bunch of mix breed pullets that need another good 4-5 months before they start laying... And since Golden pheasants don't hit peak fertility until they reach right around 2 years I'm hoping to put some of these young mix breed pullets in with him right before they hit 6 months and begin laying to hopefully hatch some cool crosses!!!

I heard someone say in either this thread or another that pheasants that evolved more closely alongside jungle fowl might have higher fertility rates in their offspring so I'm hoping to cross any hybrid sons back to chickens!

I'm really starting to wonder if F2 would have crests and if F1 hens would only lay a pheasants amount of eggs... And how well would they fly? Could F1 birds be safely free ranged? What about F2? Would the pheasant genetics help increase broodiness genes or survival instincts? SO many questions!!!
I'm very interested to hear how this goes, keep us updated!

Since my Niji my Golden Pheasant is very very sweet I think I'll keep him with two hens, I know the males are usually monogamous but can be with you to four hens I think two should be the perfect number of hens. I'm hoping to document how he does with just one and if I do see him mating the hen a little too often I'll add in another hen. I'm also going to be picking the most "jungle fowl" bodied pullets. I'm thinking about using this pullet

Anyone have any ideas on how I could improve this plan?
