I am having eggs disappear from my pheasant run do pheasants eat their own eggs? I got four eggs about 26 days or more ago and then nothing else after that. Then today I seen an egg and decided to leave it in there thinking they would sit on it then when I went back later it was gone. I'm getting pretty frustrated because I don't want to miss laying season. Thanks

They will eat them like candy! You will have to collect the eggs several times a day if you got this problem----if you want them.

Huh ok yea there is no egg shells around anywhere and I haven't got anything today and I check all the time.

Try putting a golf ball in the area where the eggs are usually laid. If it disappears you had a snake, probably more than one. I keep golf balls in my nest for nest eggs, I have to replace them pretty often, but have the satisfaction of knowing another egg stealing snake has committed suicide. And I usually find them in the woods around my house along with a few bones.

Not a bad idea! I've put glass eggs in my pens before but they were never swallowed by a snake.

Yes the run is covered but I but a chicken egg in there but I checked this morning I was still there I don't know what's going on.
