Pheonix or a game bantam?

That is the strangest bird that I have ever seen...she has hackle and saddle feathers making her a roo...but no comb and wattles

She/he is definitely not an OEGB.

I know, that is what is so confusing. The head is a pullet...the rest, is a roo. I'm so confused :(

Yea I noticed that and that is what made me start looking at pics of pheonix pullets and they sorta looked similar in color but the saddle feathers and hackle feathers wow were did they come from. So started looking at game bantams and it looked alittle more similar but still I was unsure.

I know of no breed of pullet that has saddle/hackle feathers...that is just so very strange!!!

This golden phoenix has saddle and hackle feathers and a small comb.
Just trying to reference.. I want to try to rule out things lol

I agree...but, those guys have hen tails...yours has a roo tail :( I can't wait until it crows or lays an egg :) It is so funny that you should post this. I purchased what was supposed to be a hamburg pullet in the Spring. He started looking like an OEGB roo...now, I have no idea what he is..I'm thinking a phoenix roo. I'm gonna have to get a good pic and post!

Could the tail think be because she is young? All my other roos same age have been crowing for a month at least. I guess I will just have to wait like you said for egg or crow. Sine she is about 19wks it shouldnt be too long for eggs ...
