Thats good for you, I have no problems with space but the prob is budget but I will definitely order as soon as my budget is ready. Haha

If only there's a nice place in Manila where you can raise a huge flock! I envy you for having a wide space for your chicks.

I am thinking of getting a place in Antipolo or tagaytay and one of my criteria in selecting a place is the space for my chickens! Then my condo will be for rent! No more hiding of chickens!! Lol

That's what i thought. airplanes (cebu pacific) used to fly to Baguio but they have discontinued.

Career Opportunity

Coco Poultry Farms is a family business with local and international experience in sustainable farming. Our small mixed farm is located on the beach in the Municipality of Cauayan in Southern Negros Occidental. We strive to develop quality livestock for the betterment of the Filipino small farm, while developing practices on our farm that will maximize land use without abuse.

We are determining the feasibility of employing a graduating student with a Bachellors Degree in Animal Sciences in an entry level position to grow with our farm.

We have big ambitions.

Our projects include:
• Breeding, raising and marketing dual purpose, heritage type poultry. We have been successful in distributing breeds such as Rhode Island Red, Orpington, Jersey Giant, Marans and Ameraucana chickens across the country.
• Breeding other poultry for the purveyor of great tasting ingredients – including Giant Peking duck, turkey, Guinea Fowl, and partridge.
• Selective breeding of swine to develop world class terminal boar genetics and make the said genetic material available to the local farmer at a reasonable cost. We routinely perform AI on our small selection of sows using genetic material from quality grand parent stock housed in Pampanga. We only keep the best offspring gilts to continue the program.
• A micro dairy, producing cheeses from goats selectively bred. Our current buck is a near pure Saanen and our does are high percentage Nubian. We hope to have our first milk-able goats in fifteen months.
• Animal waste management through composting and recycling.
• Animal nutrition. We mix all our own dry feeds and supplements after evaluating the ingredients’ nutritional values. We also grow foraging trees including Leucaenia, Moringa, Mulberry and Manila Tamarind.

Our future goals are:
• Elevated garden beds to maximize efficiency in our poor soil to grow produce for farm consumption and trade.
• Aquaponics, utilizing Tilapia and water filtration through a vegetable garden bed to create a synergistic environment of food production.

We are looking for a soon-to-graduate student with:
• Exceptional assessment and lateral thinking skills
• Knowledge and practical skill in animal husbandry
• Communication skills with a great grasp of English and good working knowledge Pilipino.
• Honesty and integrity with the ability to work unsupervised.
