They have the widest space among the rest of the chooks. I am feeding her breeder pellets, plus layer mash, and mixed starter/grower feeds. i give them a handful of cracked corn every morning.

Why so many different types of feed?

Is it available to her 24/7?

She seems to have access to food, though I would not give then the cracked corn. It is low in protein, and the will eat it is preference to a balanced diet.

On their 18th week, i bought breeder pellets for them (as suggested by the agrivet), but they eat less.they like the mixed grower/starer feeds (which is intended for my 8-weeks chicks) so i also give them some since they eat less of the pellets. when my roo died last saturday, i bought the layer mash so they will continue to lay.

I have 3 hens, one of them is laying.
in a separate coop, i have 16 chicks.

Snow, my BBSO is now laying!! i heard her singing the egg song so i went inside the coop to check what's going on and i found an egg outside the nesting box. I thought it was Matcha's but i noticed that Matcha has already laid an egg inside the nest. I compared the two eggs and the other one is bigger and the color is lighter compared to Matcha's egg. It's almost pinkish. confirmed!! 2 out of my 3 hens are laying. I bet my BO will lay anytime soon.
