Hello. I am dubbing myself Phocyn for this forum. As for what is happening, I have a baby chick that has stunted feathers. They are a quarter of the size of her flock mates. They were bought from a feed store and came from a mixed run of bantams. They were on sale for 'Easter' and well, I'm really not for that. I'm guessing the chick is about 2 to 4 weeks.

She seems in good health, just the feathers are clubbed or in some cases look sheared off like a bad clip job. I've seen both. I'd like to find a solution.

I have posted this same question with my parrot group so I hope to find answers quickly.

This is my well, I'm 37 and have been raising bantams since I was in my mid 20s.

Hola and hello. I only speak English though. :)

She is my best eater, which is why the feather issues left me confused. Given her age and size, they primaries really should be longer. She is healthy, very active, social.

Thanks for the welcome. Once I deal with this, I'll intro my other flock members even my oldest rooster Ollie. :hmm he's got double digits.

Ollie - so, his feathers have been curled since a molt a couple seasons ago.

Nibel, his mate, bit me otherwise you'd have a pic of her too. She's a grey little thing a couple inches bigger than him. She's in nesting mode and I just don't mess with her at that time.

I don't breed these two but as Ollie was alone after his flock passed and Nibel needed a gentle rooster I paired them up.

They have been together for 3 years now.
