Price approx € 4000.

Decathlon has one for € 1000, but I don’t think they are reliable / last a long time.

There are many trademarks/options in between. Ask around, make a test ride, try folding it, if you are truly interested.
Yikes, 4,000 Euros? I had no idea that they ran so high!

If you pay that much but it lasts a long while it's probably well worth it.

I do have my 20+ year old bike that was going to get tossed. It still works just fine. Not an ebike though. Not sure how long an ebike would last.

Random tax payment for, well, everything. Nothing like raw turnip greens when the temperature finally soars to the mid-20’s:

Its in In general its the same as the normal bikes except for the power/range from the battery. The batteries start to decline after several years, depending on how often you charge it (1000 charges)
A 100 km range can easily drop to 50 km after 3-7 years.
A yearly (or 2000km) check , cleaning and new oil/grease at the bike shop makes the bike last longer.

Unfortunately an e-bike just isn't realistic where I live. I would buy one tomorrow if it were different.

A bit under one hour today. 8C with showers and strong wind gusts. The weather people underestimated the wind strength particularly the gusts which hit 40mph this afternoon.
They came out for half an hour and went to roost ten minutes before dusk.
Cleaned, watered and fed.
I've got a couple more very busy days ahead.

Bristol City Council have upgraded the cycle path from the center of town out to Avonmouth.

Not where I live.:lau

Not where I live! :lau
My flat is a council/ social housing flat. There is garage which gets broken into a few times a year, not to mention they have no idea who has the fobs for the door.

It's bit rough where I live.:p
It's wild that we have the same issue. It's a bit rough where we live, even though we're not in a city. Our county is known for larceny.

So while I really, really want an e-mountain bike (you feel like a super-hero going up hills!), I'm waiting until we finish our never-ending home build and have room to store bikes indoors. E-mountain bikes are a good bit more pricey than e-bikes for town, and there's no space for a bicycle roommate in our current human coop.

Sorry I do lurk - but had to comment that wet hands on metal barn door handles is not a smart move (ouch)!

I try not to have anything metal in the barn where chooks can sit - except my push lawn mower…… they insist upon sitting on that metal handle! A towel solved the cold feet (and poopy handle) situation.
Wow, no metal handles 🥶 Makes sense with as much winter weather as you have in Ontario. We have a fraction of that--high winds, 4-5 good snows, and 15-20 days a year when it doesn't reach up to freezing. Those days are exhausting, particularly if there's wind and snow on top of the cold.

That said, if I were any good at winter, Ontario sounds wonderful. Friends moved up a few years ago and have loved it.

Winter tax. When it finally reached 30 F / -1 C yesterday, restless chickens were ready to stretch their legs, and the light was nice.

Merle and girls didn't leave the coop at all Monday because it was snowing and 18/-8. I finally evicted Mr. Merle from the coop yesterday afternoon, and the hens followed out to join him, in tight formation as usual.
