Phoenix Thread

Oh my, I love seeing all these beautiful photos of Phoenix lovelies. I used to have silver Phoenixes until a raccoon incident recently. My aunt sent me two phoenix pullets. I have no idea what the color is. I've only seen the red, golden, and silver. What would you call these ladies?

I'm thinking that they are actually golden phoenixes with a white feathering in place of the usual black. Can anyone confirm this, or have another idea?

We've been showing chickens for 4H, my daughter really like the Golden Phoenix so we ordered some from Welp hatchery and even hatched some from the best looking that we got from them. She qualified for the state fair, but apparently while the rooster looked good, the hens apparently had something off on the central rib of their feathers. Looking for some show quality stock to help improve her chances next year. It's a 4-H project so I'm not looking to break the bank, but want her the chance to be competitive with her chickens. Any help finding a breeder who can supply eggs for hatching for a reasonable price for a 4-H project would be most appreciated. Thanks

My 7 month phoenix rooster with 20 in tail feathers. hope they get longer.

I'm fixing to acquire my first set (complete with an undetermined amount of chicks) of this beautiful breed.Any advice different from any other breed? I know about uping protein and lot of roaming room. Are they good with respectful kids (who have been around a couple flogging roosters and know when to leave them alone)?

Do you by any small chance have a Phoenix Rooster available? My father saw one and fell in love with them, thought I'd get one for him. (As in take care of it and let him see it.)
Thanks so much,

My son also is showing pheonix chickens in 4H. He chose golden but we ended up with silver :/ we need other chicks from different blood lines so he can breed. This is only his second year. He has 2 1 year old hens. And less than a month old hen and roo.
