Horizon is not level. In this case you kind of have to pick an object in the background to set your horizon since ther's nothing really definitive. I'd use the fencing. It's not perfect, but it'll give you enough to offset all the other background angles and ground this a bit.

Focus is off (eye should be your focal point, here the sharpest focus is slightly forward at the base of the beak)

There's a distracting clucker butt taking up the right side of the image.

The sky is blown out because of the low light. Flash would help with that. It'll also help lock in your focus a bit as well.

This is a picture I took last night of two of my Sebright girls. The background is one of my coops with a tarp over the run to keep them cool. Bad background but at least its clear.

Really this is not a bad shot, except for the tarp. As a snapshot, it's just fine. I might crop the roof out just to see what it looks like, but There's tradeoff in how much time you want to put into a shot that at the end of the day is still really only destined for a memory book or photo album. by that, I mean you're not hanging a portrait of this on your wall as art. You'd keep this as a memory or to show off your girls, and for that purpose it's just fine.

First off, I love this. I would probably crop it in and eliminate a bunch of the bottom and left side to bring the horses up more into the shot. That's a preference thing though, from a technical perspective there's not really anything wrong here.

I’ll join in. This is one of my first ever shots, if I was to do it again, what should I change?
