This grass/woodline in the top right is distracting. I would crop in a little tighter to get rid of it.

That single blade of grass behind the cup is distracting too. The very left edge of the plate is cut off which is not ideal so backing up a tiny bit would make it better.

Personally, I don't think the cup works as well in this image as it does in your other image. The chicks are in front of it, blocking some of it, and I don't think it goes quite as good with the pine straw. I like the one with the chick sitting in the cup. It just needed to be leveled and this one seems slightly tilted also.

One thing all pics can benefit from is good light. Looks like it may have been overcast when you took this pic. That's better than very harsh light at high noon with no clouds, but if you take it just after sunrise or before sunset with the sun at your back and no clouds, you'll get some awesome light on the chicks which will also improve the image.

Okay thanks for the tips!

It snows in the equator? Wow, I never knew that! That's cool! Ok. Maybe the southern end is different on geography. I don't know of anywhere in Maine that looks like that.
That's due to the height of the mountain, not the geographical location

That's what I was afraid would happen. Thanks for confirming!
Your depth of field is too shallow and forward focused in this shot. To help solve that, go with a higher f/stop to get that depth of field to deepen. This will help bring more of the shot into focus. Set a focal point about midway into the distance as well to help balance the transition from 'in focus" to "not".

See if this helps
