Hey my rooster is not looking good. droopy tail, comb and waddle are turning bluish (temp here is about 40-50 degrees so id say frost bite is out). He has all white runny poop. and he is not crowing today. though he keeps opening his mouth (repeatedly, and not always looking like hes trying to crow, sometimes just like if your nose is plugged and you have to breathe out of your mouth

New to quail for 1 1/2 months now. Started with 20 bobwhites. 4 males and 16 female. Lost 1 male and 5 females early to quick freeze after rain. 1 got out and lab retrieved it (didn’t survive) and 1 to think fighting (blood on head and wing). Enjoying this new hobby in Fort Worth,Tx.
Hi, Y’all!

@Harestad Farm have you ever dewormed him?
how old is he?
any others in your flock exhibiting symptoms?
can you bring him to a vet?
I just dewormed with Valzeban, almost 2 weeks ago. . the closest avain vet is 45 min away that has an opening in the near future and thats not till tuesday and in the middle of the day which makes it one VERY VERY expensive rooster give my lost wage and the fact that i cant just get time off like that. and thats if he even makes it that long

i was wondering if he had gapeworm

A gapeworm, also known as a red worm and forked worm, is a parasitic nematode worm that infects the tracheas of certain birds. The resulting disease, known as "gape" or "the gapes", occurs when the worms clog and obstruct the airway

the way he is reaching his head makes me think this, and i dont think valbazen treats gapes, let me look...
