Photographers, what tripods do you recommend?

I need to update my extra heavy, none to user friendly model. Anyone got a particular model they love or hate?

I don't know much about photography but I've heard and read that Nikon DS09 (not sure if that's the correct model name) is a very good camera and excellent investment. Cannon also work well but I'd stick to the Nikon devices.

You can't go wrong with Manfrotto or Gitzo. They cost a little more but they will last. I love my Gitzo.

I have a very old, can't remember the brand, but I REALLY like that it is made of light weight aluminum. Super easy to lug around.
