Ok.. everyone.. we've had a fun lesson and a couple of more difficult ones.. let's get back to the fun.

This lesson is dedicated to:

COLOR The use of color in photography can completely change the mood of your photograph. Have you seen those infant portraits that are done in black & white? The dramatic nature of the lack of color gives a feeling of timeless beauty and, to me, taking away the color in a newborn pic focuses on the raw beauty of a child and even the miracle of birth... whoa.. that's pretty deep

And, on the flip side, a cool beach shot with the blue sky and the tranquil blue of the ocean lends a calming effect or a colorful carnival scene with bright lights and vivid colors gives an energetic, youthful feeling.

Here's a little blog with some useful info http://www.picturecorrect.com/tips/understanding-color-in-photography/

and
another link http://www.digital-photography-school.com/how-to-use-colour-effectively-to-enhance-your-digital-photography

What
I would like to see are two photos...
1) monochromatic - this means that the main color of the photo is the same with varying shades, hues and tints of the same color. This one can be a close up of leaves or petals or even a cloud shot. The energy and interest of a monochromatic pic is derived from the shadows and lines. Please be sure to upload clear pics and try bazaar angles to give a different perspective.

2) poly-chromatic - this means that there are competing colors within the same image. You can choose to keep the colors cool or warm or use vibrant and loud colors.

List your 2 photos as "monochromatic" and "poly-chromatic" and describe what feelings or emotion your images may be projecting.

Kathryn & FourPawz, love those.

Monochromatic. This one makes me feel happy, maybe because it almost seems like the frog might be smiling.

Poly-chromatic. I love muted colors; this one has a very serene feeling.
