This fits the bill, right? I know next to nothing about composition. I'm more of a "Oh pretty! Let's shoot it!" photographer.

I think composition is just interest by object. ...so, if your photo was just of a phone in the grass taken from above, it would be kind of boring but, because of the shadows and the way the phone is positioned, it gives interest.


Here's mine. Im so excited... when I first started I thought.. oh geez, this is really hard and took many many pictures but, then I liked the slim profile of the phone and started taken photos from that angle and they got better. I included a vase in the background to pull out more blue color from the phone and I liked the dark wood contrast of the buffet.
