You got crocs!?
(From ehat I can see they're crocs)

Yep, Morelet's crocodiles. They're shy, so they're not a huge threat to us, but I do worry about the ducks since they're free range. We had one casualty, a female who went swimming in our pond alone. A few months after that, the entire flock decided to go for a swim.

Apparently the crocodile attacked our drake, Captain--and, apparently, severely underestimated him. I came out to find several girls escorting him home and the rest of the flock standing on the bank staring in horror at the pond, where a crocodile was looking back at them. Captain had a minor wound, but was fine within a few days. The next day, the croc was gone, we didn't see another for months. Captain made sure none of his girls ever got back in there, either. (Well, except for the young ones, who don't like to listen to their elders. ;))

The fact that the crocodile inflicted so little damage, gave up so quickly, and then completely evacuated makes me wonder if Captain actually won the fight.

Love all the pictures!

@HannahDuckLover Your ducks are gorgeous!

Thanks!

Hey Folks,

Is there anybody that like photography out there?
Trust me, I am not a professional photographer... But I sure do love it!

Here are my favorite photos I have taken throughout the year.
Please tell me which one you like the best and why.

I will start out with my oldest photos, since they were from this year...
Wouldn't call them old, I just wanted to say what I'll start out with.

Please ask questions, whether the questions are about the breeds or names!

Hi, you've taken some great photos but number 2 is definitely my favourite...you really captured that inquisitive stare! I also like the wild bird photo...is it a coal tit? Also what z beautiful dog you've got! I also like to take pet photos, but just snaps on my phone really...you can see my beagle Bella in my profile pic with a Pepper a hen I unfortunately lost. I've posted a couple of photos in the calendar competition if you'd like to see them though. Have you entered...you should!
