I showed the picutres to my daughter (13yrs) NOW she wants Cuckoos !!! When will I learn not to show her pictures !!!

LOL. I have cuckoo Marans, too, so was delighted with the prospect of a cuckoo silkie. She's adorable and such nice feathering. Can't wait to see the splash cuckoo rooster when he's fully feathered out. I ended up with him and 4 pullets from the eggs. Gave one black pullet to a friend and have kept the other 3. Think they'll make a nice start starter group to make some pretty B/B/S / Cuckoos. Do you know, is the read comb on the cuckoo due to the cuckoo color itself or due to the color just being worked into the silkies recently? Think I can work towards a dark comb or is that an unreachable goal?
