Pic of my brooder. Look what I found in there this morning!

My cat did it too. Luckily, we had 2 boxes at the time. He was only able to get the lid off one, he couldn't fit through the door to the second box, and all the chicks hightailed it to the other box. I think he also hadn't quite figured out what to do with them. I'm pretty sure they would've been lunch if he'd been with them much longer. He's always hanging out by the bathroom door, saying "Mommy! I want to see the peeping things!"

My cat did the same exact thing! He just wanted to be in with them! It was very darling......didn't hurt them at all.

My grandmother had a cat that thought that anything smaller than her was her baby. Pet rats, birds, puppies, stuffed animals, hamsters, wild animals that were injured enough to stay still, once even a batch of hard boiled eggs we left on the table to cool; all of them she would curl up around and lick them clean while purring. She had a bit of a screw loose my grandpa used to say, but she had been fixed and as a kid I just thought that she wanted to be a mommy so BADLY that she would be a mommy to anything.

That's cute!

Our kitten loves to watch the chickens. She'll just sit there and watch them like this (This was when the chickens were in a temporary pen until dad and I got their old coop/chicken tractor moved to our house. They were only in this for a day or so. I know it looks scary, but I wanted them to have room to move rather than leaving them all trapped in the dog crate for too long):

However, she seems to be afraid of the Guinea keets! She ended up in the bathroom with them without me realizing it and she was just crying at the door begging to get out of there! I was sure glad, because I didn't have the brooder covered (since I kept our dog and kitten out of there, I didn't worry about it), so if she'd wanted to, she could have made them her snack!

Who else do you think would find a nice warm box to snuggle up in!!! How cute, my kitties only watched from the chair down through a screen...I know my boy kitty would love to have fresh chicken for lunch, as it is, he watches the oven from a chair to see me check the roasted chicken! LOL.

Cat's can be strange but cute. Mine guards my ducks, quail, chickens. I thinks shes scared of them but wants to protect them because they are pets. She has never got in the brooder box though--CUTE
