I remember someone asking me for a pic of her. Just now getting around to it. Charlie has a little history. Her mother (a full blooded irish wolfhound) and her and one sibling were seized by the humane society for abuse. We went to the shelter looking for a dog for my daughter, but ended up with one for me instead. Got Charlie home and when we gave her a bath to get rid of the "pound smell" we found welts as big as an inch wide on her, all over her. She was always scared of my ex (smart dog) and she never, ever barked; even when my chihuahuas were barking to beat the band. The vet actually checked her throat with a scope to make sure her bark box hadn't been damaged due to strangulation (the abuse). It was 3 years before I ever heard her bark; and even then she scared herself and ducked like she was gonna be hit for it. To this day she barks very very rarely.
Charlie has been thru thick and thin with me and has lived in alot of places. Now with my SO she has finally found a man she can trust (again, smart dog) and she's enjoying her senior years with us. Smartest dog I've ever owned and she's even gotten to where she talks to us in a low, sweet little "voice'.
Didn't mean to ramble on, but she's my canine soulmate.
P.S. I've spent alot of time trying to figure out where her big, erect ears came from, but can't figure em out.
