I try to handle my birds with some regularity, but the flightier ones can still take a bit of wrangling. I find it easier to approach them while crouched down (as that's less scary than grabbing them from above) and then reaching out slowly and pulling them in.

Other thing working against you is they're also at the age where they're going to be less willing to be handled, and that'll continue until they're about ready to lay.

If you absolutely have no choice, a fish net could work to catch them.

When I do routine health checks, I just wait until everyone has gone to roost, wear a headlamp and pluck them off the roost and do what I need to do. Very simple.

I use zipties, you do have to keep an eye on them, and they can break and fall off.
