I have an Easter egger chicks that is about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and she has started to peck at the feather of the other chicks and it seems like she is pulling hard. I can’t tell if she is trying to pick something off or is being aggressive. I just don’t want her to be aggressive and I am not sure what to do.

Watch your chicks for blood. I have had pecking problems in young chicks but mostly the poor heads of the polish chicks for some reason.
Mostly with chicks this young though it is just curious pecking, toes beaks and eyes. Everything is new and must be explored.
Welcome to the backyard by the way!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!:frow BYC is a helpful site providing all the information you need to know about poultry! That is extremely odd that you have a young chick feather picking, especially for a Easter Egger. Easter Eggers are always the submissive ones in the flock. What are you feeding them? Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!

Hi and welcome to BYC. Ensuring that you brooder is sufficiently large, and placing objects that may grab the attention of chicks (shiny objects, such as CDs), small tree branches for them to hop on etc can help reduce the behaviour that you describe.
