Picking up Chanteclers - 1 "coquelet" & 1 pullet from each of 4 blood lines

Oh, I am still not sure I understand the rooster situation. Are you keeping the barred rock cockerel then? In your original post - you said you were culling a rooster. I assumed it was the barred rock.

Did you get a Chantecler rooster?

Where are the pictures?

Today I will travel to the Granby Quebec area to pickup a Chantecler cockerel and four pullets. This is the result of a inquiry/request I made in the fall of 2021 and hatched in June of this year.

I am taking a friend who greatly enjoys animals and is also a professional photographer. I hope to get good shots of the breeder's Chanteclers, his heritage turkey breeds and his breeding facilities.

His operation is focused on heritage birds, small but growing. In 2022 he hatched over 100 Chanteclers, I will select, with his assistance, from this group and hope to get birds exhibiting the best of the breeds characteristics.

I will post pictures over the next few days.

Get crackin'. You've got a long drive ahead. I'm 1.5 hrs from Granby but that border would make transporting birds difficult.

I'm marking this so I can see the pictures later today. Guessing these are white if obtaining in Quebec.

I live in Quebec but for me it is a 4 hour drive and I have to pick up my friend in Ottawa. Will be a 8-10 hour round trip so a long day.

I chuckled when I saw your post, made you seem more real somehow. Yes to White Chanteclers. Best case is tomorrow for pictures I should think.

Thanks for your post.

:pop Yup, me too! Waiting to see the pics.

8-10 hour round trip doesn't sound too bad to me, especially with 2 drivers. As long as the weather and roads are good, of course.

Safe travels!
